The core philosophy of Metamorph is to blend popular role-playing and simulation mechanics with casual elements into a well-crafted product with a focus on simplicity. The game is played from an angled top-down perspective to provide a sense of scale. This is the preferred and more commonly used architecture for higher quality role-playing games, despite that it is less cost-effective to produce than traditional isometric games. Metamorph will also feature a large variety of visually appealing non-diegetic* user interface elements to make the game more easily understandable to a broad audience.

The game is built on the concept of combining simulation and role-playing genres into a compelling experience, for this reason, it aims to provide the player with numerous ways to personalise the experience to their liking. The advantage of life-simulation experiences is that the players can experiment with different lifestyles which may be very different to their real-life choices. If any particular playstyle* becomes repetitive, players can switch to other available content with ease, simulating real-life actions in a more accessible manner. Such features will be discussed in more detail in later sections of this documentation.
