Humanity was subjected to this choice in the Year 2044. The age of cybernetic metamorphosis has begun. A mind transplant from the physical body into the digital consciousness.

The metamorphosis immerses players in the not-too-distant future. The countdown begins on August 5, 2044, the date when virtual weddings first surpassed classic ones, the preference for digital travel caused the bankruptcy of the world's largest hotel chains, and physical contact with another human being became an event to brag about to friends.

Increasingly, humanity raised the question of existentialism. Who we are, what we are here for, and what the price is. The denial followed, which soon developed into protests and strikes. The world is on the edge of change. Technology has thrown a new challenge to nature.

First the volunteers, than the fanatics of strong sensations. A desire fuelled by curiosity blossomed in the minds of many, and after a couple of years, the phenomenon became global.

Millions of people decided to leave their bodies in metamorphosis pods, entrusting their minds to algorithms, waiting for their mentor, someone to take care of them and play with their lives. Humans become Morphs, creatures from code, without losing their previous appearance and conscience. They look for each other, they need each other to feel complete again.

Metamorph is the story of an egoism cast aside in favour of another, of a technology that allows love to cross the border of death. Soul immortality is a gift that humanity makes to itself. Metamorph shows us that heaven can take many forms, one of which is digital. They have made their choice.
